Assignment rules and overrides

Each person gets exactly one signature. SigHQ picks it in this order, and the first match wins:

  1. Per-person override — always wins.
  2. Assignment rules — evaluated top to bottom; the first rule that matches wins.
  3. Organisation default signature — used when nothing else matches.

An override pins one person to one signature, regardless of any rule. A person can have at most one. Remove the override to send them back through the rules.

Rules match on directory fields: department, job title, office location, company name, country, state and city. They use equals, contains or starts with. Rules can also match on group membership.

Order matters. Drag rules to reorder them, or use the up and down buttons. Put narrow rules above broad ones, otherwise the broad rule matches first.

The default signature catches everyone not matched above. Keep one set at all times, because new starters get it until a rule applies.

If someone sees the wrong signature, open their entry under Manage to see which override or rule resolved for them.
